Lagos State University (LASU) is one of the most popular state universities in Nigeria. For the 2026/2027 session, education sites reported that LASU’s management set 195 as the minimum UTME score for its Post-UTME screening. We have not seen the figure in an official LASU notice, so confirm it on the LASU admission portal.

What 195 means
A screening minimum is the score you need to apply, not the score that guarantees admission. Final admission depends on your aggregate across UTME, Post-UTME and other criteria, and on the number of places in your course. Competitive courses such as Medicine, Law, Nursing and Accounting usually need much more than the minimum.
Lagos indigenes and catchment
As a state university, LASU traditionally gives some priority to Lagos State indigenes. Your state of origin on your JAMB profile is what counts.
LASU and the 2026 strike
Academic activities at LASU were reported to resume on 13 October 2026 after ASUU suspended its strike in Lagos State universities. Read our LASU resumption update.
How to check LASU admission

Frequently asked questions
Can I get into LASU with 180?
If the 195 screening minimum is confirmed, a score of 180 would not be eligible for LASU’s 2026/2027 Post-UTME. Consider other state universities or a change of institution.
Does LASU release departmental cut-offs?
LASU communicates admission through its portal and JAMB CAPS. We’ll publish departmental figures when we can confirm them.
