One of the most common reasons qualified candidates don’t get admission is simple: their O’Level result isn’t uploaded to their JAMB profile. Universities process admission on JAMB CAPS, and CAPS checks your O’Level record.
Who needs to upload?
- Candidates who registered for the UTME while awaiting results.
- Candidates using two sittings who uploaded only one result.
- Anyone whose CAPS profile shows no O’Level result.
How to upload
- Go to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre.
- Take your exam number, exam year and exam type for each result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB).
- The centre uploads the result to your profile. A small service charge applies.
- Collect the printout or confirmation.
How to check it worked
- Log in to the JAMB e-Facility portal.
- Open CAPS and look for the O’Level or My O’Level result section.
- Check that each subject and grade is correct.
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Result shows the wrong grades | Return to the CBT centre with your original result for correction. |
| Result not showing after upload | Wait a few days, then check again. If still missing, contact the CBT centre. |
| Result withheld by WAEC or NECO | It can’t be uploaded until it’s released. Follow up with the exam body. |
| Name on result differs from JAMB | You may need an affidavit or data correction. Ask your university’s admissions office. |
When to upload
As soon as your result is out. Universities upload admissions in batches, and a missing O’Level can cost you a place in an early batch. JAMB also requires institutions to keep uploading O’Level results within approved timelines.
