The 2026/2027 Post-UTME season is nearly over. Most big universities, including UNILAG, UI and OAU, have finished their screening and released cut-off marks. But a few institutions extended their deadlines into late October and early November 2026, which gives candidates who met the minimum UTME score one more chance.
Screening still open or recently extended
| Institution | Reported deadline |
|---|---|
| Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED), Ondo | Extended to 30 October 2026 (Post-UTME and Direct Entry) |
| Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi (FUAMB) | 31 October 2026 |
| Federal University Gashua (FUGASHUA) | Extended to 3 November 2026 (minimum UTME score of 150) |
Deadlines that have just closed
These schools ran screening in September and October 2026. If you missed them, watch for supplementary screening announcements:
- Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK): extended to 14 October 2026.
- Bayero University Kano (BUK): portal reopened until 4 October 2026.
- Ekiti State University (EKSU), University of Ilesa (UNILESA) and BOUESTI: 30 September 2026.
- Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU): final registration closed 23 September 2026.
- Osun State University (UNIOSUN): 17 September 2026, with a general minimum UTME score of 160.
Why the rush now?
JAMB fixed 31 October 2026 as the admission deadline for public universities for the 2026/2027 session. Universities must conclude screening and upload admissions to CAPS before then. This is why the remaining screening windows are short. Private universities have until 30 November 2026.
Before you apply
- Check your eligibility. You must have chosen the institution in your UTME (or changed to it on the JAMB portal) and met its minimum score.
- Have your documents ready: JAMB result slip, O’Level results, passport photograph and a valid email address. See our document checklist.
- Change your institution if needed. If the school was not your first choice, ask whether a change of institution on the JAMB portal is required. JAMB said the change of course and institution window would open only after the mop-up exam.
- Pay through the official portal only. Avoid agents who sell “forms” through WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still get admission into a federal university this year?
Yes, if you take part in one of the remaining screening exercises and are admitted before the 31 October deadline. Private universities, polytechnics and colleges of education have later deadlines.
What if I didn’t choose these schools in my UTME?
Some schools allow candidates to change institution on the JAMB portal. Read each school’s screening notice carefully.
