ADSU Admission Requirements
To be considered for undergraduate admission into Adamawa State University, candidates generally need to meet the following requirements:
- O’Level results: a minimum of five credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB, obtained in not more than two sittings (some courses accept only one sitting).
- JAMB UTME: sitting the UTME with the correct subject combination for your chosen course and choosing ADSU as your first choice institution.
- Minimum score: meeting or exceeding the ADSU cut-off mark for the session and the departmental cut-off for your course.
- Age: candidates should be at least 16 years old by the admission year.
- Post UTME screening: registering for and participating in the ADSU Post UTME or screening exercise.
Direct Entry candidates apply with qualifications such as A’Level (IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge A’Level), NCE, OND or HND, in addition to the O’Level requirements for their course.
ADSU Post UTME Screening
Every year, ADSU conducts a Post UTME or screening exercise for candidates who chose the university and met the minimum JAMB score. Depending on the session, the screening may be a computer-based test, an online document screening, or an aggregate of UTME and O’Level grades. Registration usually opens after JAMB releases UTME results, and the screening form fee is paid through the university’s admission portal.
When the ADSU Post UTME form is released, we publish the eligibility criteria, registration steps, dates and fee on this page and in our Post UTME section.
ADSU Cut-off Mark
ADSU sets a general cut-off mark each session, and individual faculties and departments set higher marks for competitive courses such as Medicine and Surgery, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, Engineering and Accounting. Your final admission decision usually depends on an aggregate score that combines your UTME score with your Post UTME score and/or O’Level grades.
See our cut-off marks section for the latest ADSU general and departmental cut-off marks.
ADSU Admission List
ADSU releases its admission list in batches: a merit list first, followed by supplementary lists. Admission is also uploaded to JAMB CAPS, where candidates must accept or reject the offer. To check your ADSU admission status:
- Log in to the ADSU admission or Post UTME portal with your JAMB registration number.
- Open the admission status section to see if you have been offered a course.
- Log in to JAMB CAPS on the JAMB e-Facility portal and accept the admission offer.
- Print your JAMB admission letter and proceed to pay the acceptance fee.
ADSU School Fees
New students pay a one-time acceptance fee before completing registration, followed by school fees for the session. Fees at ADSU vary by faculty, by whether a student is fresh or returning, and (for state universities) sometimes by state of origin. Charges commonly include tuition or registration, ICT, library, medical, sports, laboratory/practical and hostel fees.
Check our school fees section for the current ADSU fee schedule once it is published.
ADSU Academic Calendar
The ADSU academic calendar sets the dates for resumption, registration, lectures, examinations and holidays for each semester. Fresh students usually resume for orientation and registration shortly after admission lists are released. We post resumption dates and calendar updates in our academic calendar section.
